Your Chapter 1
Too many times I see women comparing themselves to all the gorgeous fitness models out there and really getting down on themselves for not looking as good as they do.
What everyone forgets to realize is those girls have been working towards their physique for YEARS. Six plus days a week lifting HEAVY weight in the gym, spending hours upon hours of food prepping, having extreme discipline on their macros, and even sacrificing a social life.
Earning the body you desire takes time, consistency, diligence, and a lot of hard work. To be 100% honest, I sometimes get offended when I hear someone complaining about how they don’t understand why they don’t look like the bikini girls & fitness models on Instagram. Do you think that body happens over night? Or better yet over 1 year? Negative. It’s taken me 4 years of weight lifting to get the body I have now and I’m no where near comparable to 99% of those women. But at the same time, I’m pretty happy with how far I’ve come and I can’t wait to continue growing physically and intellectually.
Rather you’re a college student, working mom, stay at home mom rushing kids around all day, or anything else in between with a life outside of the gym, you can’t compare yourselves to those women because that’s not fair to your self esteem.
I’m not saying to make excuses for yourself, but what I am saying is you have to set realistic goals FOR YOU, both short term and long term. You can only compare yourself to who you were yesterday, and try to be better than that person today.
Focus on you and only you – one day at a time – and that’s when you’ll start seeing progress.
