How to Lose 10 Pounds in 1 Week

If you’re not someone who already reads this blog and you clicked on this link because the title interested you…..then you need to keep reading.

You’ve fallen for my trap that proves too many people are reading about, sharing and trying these fad diets because they want a quick fix.

This blog is not going to give you the answer you may have been hoping for.

Instead, I teach, preach and live the truth – which is that fad diets are not realistic, sustainable, or healthy (mentally nor physically).

I can’t count how many times I’ve had a new client, friend or acquaintance feel the need to tell me about this new diet their trying, and then have them expect me to know exactly what they’re talking about.

Honestly, I don’t care what the “new thing” is and I don’t care to waste my time learning much about it.

If you want to lose 10, 20, 30 or more pounds and you want to keep it off, than you’ve got to make a lifestyle change and stick with it.

By going on a fad diet, you’re basically saying, “I want to loose 10 pounds in one week before X event, but then the week after that I want to gain 15 pounds back”.

Sound okay to you? Didn’t think so.

Here are just a few reasons why you shouldn’t go on a diet:

  1. They aren’t realistic long-term.
  2. They can damage your metabolism and cause you more harm than good.
  3. Diets are short term, which means you’ll be healthy short-term. What’s the point of that?
  4. If you diet long and hard enough, you could experience hair loss, loss of your menstrual cycle, fatigue, mood swings, depression, anxiety, mental fogginess, and much more.

Ever gone on one of these diets where you cut out carbs for a week or two? If so, what did you crave? Probably carbs, because you weren’t allowing your body to have them.

But it’s “okay” because these diets allow you to “slowly” introduce those carbs back in.

Sounds fine and dandy until the day you’re allowed to incorporate fruit back in…but then you go overboard by having too much, and you end up getting 70+ grams of sugar in one day from the fruit alone (yes, the sugar in fruit can make you fat…if you eat enough of it).

Doesn’t sound very “healthy” to me.

Simply put, when you tell your body you can’t have something, it’s likely going to make you want it 10x more.

So instead of going on a diet, how about consider changing your daily diet to a balanced lifestyle?

How do you go about doing so?

Well, first of all you need to decide what’s going to work best for you.

If it’s not feasible in your schedule for you to make it to the gym 5-6 days a week, than don’t try to go to the gym 5-6 days a week.

Instead, start with 3 days a week and go from there rather than setting yourself up for failure from the start.

If you love bread, why completely take it out of your diet? Look at the nutrition labels, and find the better options. Eat protein with the bread to help slow the digestion process down.

If you hate running, than don’t go running for exercise! There’s TON’S of different ways you can burn calories other than becoming a servant to the sidewalk.

The point I’m getting at here is you aren’t going to stick to something very long that you’re miserable doing, and if you don’t stick to something, you won’t get where you want to be.

Instead of going on diet, have a plan for your macros & workout routine, and make sure it’s one that’s not only feasible, but also one that you’ll actually enjoy.
